Karen Vassar
Director, Public Services Recruiting

Karen Vassar is the Director of Recruiting for the Public Services practice of George Group Consulting. She is responsible for developing a recruiting strategy based on a deep understanding both client and business needs, and for developing and executing a process that can deliver qualified candidates to open positions quickly. That includes oversight of all talent acquisition elements: sourcing, prescreening, technical screening, behavioral screening, onsite interviews, and closings. She holds an M.S. in health promotion management from Marymount University.

Karen came to George Group with more than 20 years of experience in recruiting, hiring, and operational management experience. Most recently, she was the Senior Recruiter for BearingPoint, a $120 million defense sector company. In that role, she worked directly on all matters pertaining to talent acquisition and demand planning, including strategy development, metric tracking, and mentoring junior recruiters. Prior to that, she worked for Korn/Ferry International, a global executive search firm, where she was hand picked to spearhead and manage domestic recruitment efforts on behalf of the Transportation Security Administration in the wake of 9/11.
